Soccer Season 2009

Our girls decided to give soccer a try this year. Skinny Dancing Girl was on her school's 7th grade team aka The Lady Eagles. And Princess Second Grader was on the AYSO team aka The Purple Monkeys. After losing every game, Skinny DAncing Girl said she didn't think she would do soccer again. At the end of the year party her coach told the audience that Skinny Dancing Girl was the "Most graceful player on the team" amd that she was like "A little Ballerina on the field". Couldn't have described her better!

Princess Second Grader loved her soccer season. She was one of the most aggresive girls on the team and even scored a few goals. She definetly will play again...she stole all the athletic talent from the family. She also made a great goalie for her team. This is a picture of her in her goalie uniform. They are both so cute!

Preschool at THE FASCINATION STATION

This is Chunky Baby Boy (in the middle) on his first day of Preschool. Shortwoman is teaching preschool to these three cute boys. We have preschool at the Fascination Station aka...Shortwoman's home every Tuesday and Thursday. We stay busy for an hour and a half doing Calendar, Pledge of Allegience, Carpet Time, Story Time, Handwriting, and Crafts. These boys are so smart that they will all be reading by the time the year is through!

First Day of School 2009

We are well into the second week of school so I decided I better post the kids pics or I would forget. The first day of School this year was on Shortwoman's birthday, there was never a better birthday gift than that. JK You wouldn't believe how excited the kids were to go back to school and meet their teachers. I have the cutest kids-don't I? Skinny Dancing Girl started 7th grade and that means- Junior High, lockers, friends, and DRAMA! The first week of school was so much fun for her but by Monday of the second week she had so much homework that Shortwoman over heard Skinny Dancing Girl mumbling at the table that she hated school already.

Handsome Boy is in 5th grade this year with MR. BARNES. Handsome Boy thinks it is so cool to have a MAN teacher. Shortwoman is a little iffy about it because Mr. Barnes gives out slimy "Gross Balls" for awards and Handsome boy likes to shove them in her face to make her skirm. No wonder the boys like him- no cute stickers there.

Princess Second Grader has Ms. Lewis and has already made a dinosaur skeleton craft. It according to her has been the best and funnest activity this year. She has a strong personality and easily makes friends.

Spiderman anyone?

Chunky Baby boy turned 4 a few days ago! It is crazy to see how fast time has gone by. My little baby is getting so big! He was so cute. He wanted to go with me to pick out his cake and buy balloons.

He got some money from his grandma and grandpa so we headed to the store and he bought himself some Thomas the Tank Engine Pajamas. He wore them all day and wouldn't take them off the next day either.
Look at that face! This is just after he blew out his candles.
We gave him a spiderman bike. It was funny because at first he wasn't very excited about it but it only took a trip around the inside of the house to get him to change his mind. Now he thinks he can ride it inside anytime he wants. oops!
To end his great day, we invited two of his little friends over to play. They brought him a slip n' slide. We set it up and they played on it for an hour or so before they decided to go swimming in the neighbor's pool. Happy Birthday!

Montana Girl's College Graduation

Last night TallMan and I got to attend Montana Girl's graduation from BYU-I. We thought we would share with all of you who didn't get to come some of the pictures and video we took.

Here is Montana Girl and her family. Can you believe Ethan is 16 (17 next month) and Aaron is 12, he really has a cute smile but we couldn't catch it fast enough.

Montana Girl and her roommate/bestfriend Jamie.

We decided we needed a picture with her. We have known Montana Girl the whole time she was going to school so we didn't want to miss this event.

From the look on her face I think we got her the right graduation gift. ha ha!

Funny.... She was so busy finishing up papers and turning in assignments that she forgot to finish taking off her nail polish!!!

video This is for all you who want to see her walk and receive her diploma. Happy Graduation JESS!!!!

More Musings From TallMan

It has been a while since I have dispensed my wisdom to the masses. But, trying to stay away from the papparazi is a full-time job.

With ShortWoman and the rest of the crew visiting family in Utah, my mind has had WAY too much time to wonder. Here are some thoughts:

  • If you happen to buy and install a new washing machine because your old one sounds like a sick hen trying to pass an egg the size of a pumpkin, make sure you turn the water OFF before disconnecting the water hookup hoses on the old washing machine. Yep, LOTS of water in those pipes.

  • So, the King of Pop passed away. That is weird. I remember being quite young, and having my mom and sister call me out of my room (I was in bed, under my Superman covers) when Michael first broke out the Moon Walk on tv. That was a turning point in my life....

  • I doubt people will hold vigils or gather in large masses when I die. I also doubt that Phillipino prisoners will dance in my honor (although I haven't given up hope). So, my request to be honored is for both of my sisters, their husbands, and my brother to wear leotards to the funeral in my honor. Hick Momma, you can sing "Roll On".

  • This weekend, there was a wrestling tournament down the road from the TallMan ShortWoman compound. There was an 11 year old girl who pinned every single boy she wrestled and won the championship. Good for her. I'm sure the boys she pinned will someday have successful design shows on the Home and Garden Network.

  • Speaking of HGTV...when top level athletes train, they usually listen to fast paced music to really get themselves pumped up. Apparently, there is some sort of connection to devil worship and large muscles. TallMan and Shorty have discovered a new form of motivation...HGTV. That is what we watch while working out every morning. Nothing gets the blood flowing quite like Devine Design.

  • I'm pretty much convinced that designers use phrases such as "texture" and "luminesence", "bold statements" and "scale" to cover up what they are really thinking, which is, "I have no idea what the crap is going on in this room...but I'm charging the client out the wazoo!"

Those are the things that have been on my mind. As you can tell, there isn't much depth up there. Until next time, I'm TallMan and I have approved this message.
